This wine was what Bordeaux was originally primarily made from, now its found almost exclusively in Chile. This is a delicious example of this incredible variety, which combines the best of Cabernet and Merlot - Concha y Toro makes the best examples of this unique variety in the world. Dark and deep red. Attractive aromas of dark plums, blackcurrant and chocolate, with hints of coffee and toasted American oak. Red Wine by Marco Real from Spain. The winemaking tends to favor younger, more easily accessible styles of red wine, with good levels of extraction, but with nice balance for earlier consumption. There is a measured use of wood, but only to add a little complexity, often for only a part of the final assemblage. The wines do not pass through a long elevage and are released early, often in the spring after harvest.

For density and lushness on what can best be described as basic Merlot, you're not going to find it much better than this. It's all blackberry, chocolate and berries, but somehow they've squeezed some earth and spice in there as well. Great for a quick steak or hamburger. Best Buy. -Wine Enthusiast Dark and deep red. Attractive aromas of black plums, smoke, herbs and graphite notes. Hints of chocolate and spices, and a generous touch of toasted American oak. Mouthfilling texture, soft but well structured. Enjoy with Chicken, ham, mild cheese, risotto and pasta served with mushroom sauces.

Red Wine by Bodegas Castano from Spain. Excellent example of the Monastrell grape in its early years. Intense aromas of black fruit (plums) and less ripe red fruit (cranberries, mulberries, redcurrants, blackcurrants). On the palate it is fruity and fresh, and alive with tannins which leaves a pleasant aftertaste.

Red Wine by Cono Sur from Chile, South America. Medium to high intensity weight and red color with tints of violet. Aromas of berries, black cherries and sweet fruits with notes of toasty oak. Soft, sweet fruit on the palate with a rich texture, and mouth filling. Drink with red or white meats, and cheeses.

Red Wine by Goats do Roam from South Africa. The grapes were harvested from vineyards in the Paarl, Perdeberg, Piekenierskloof and Malmesbury regions. The majority of grapes are sourced from dry farmed old bush vines. These vineyards provide low yields, resulting in wine with considerable concentration. This vintage has for the first time incorporated fruit from Stellenbosch, adding ripe, supple tannins to the blend. Colour: Vibrant brick red. Aroma: Ripe red fruit, with a fragrant lift, with liquorice and spice notes. Palate: Fruit follows through, with fragrant notes completing the medium bodied mouthfeel. Well integrated with a smooth finish. Cellaring: The wine is ready for drinking. Enjoy over the next year or two.
