Wine By Nine

Red Wine by Falesco from Southern Italy, Italy. Winner of Italy's coveted Tre Bicchieri award. Made from 100% Merlot grown in the Montiano vineyard in Lazio. Montiano's soil is volcanic and rich in stones and the vineyard has a south/southwestern exposure. The grapes were harvested in early September. After fermentation, the wine was aged in Nevers and Tron?ais barriques for 12 months. Montiano has a wonderful deep, ruby red color and a wide range of aromas such as vanilla and small red fruits with layers of jam and sweet spices. It is full-bodied, round and soft on the palate with an elegant and lingering finish.

Red Wine by Livio Felluga from Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Italy. A very intense ruby red color, this wine shows breadth and elegance on the nose, with sensations of red berry fruit, lifted by spicy notes of toasty oak. On the palate, it is broad, soft and well-structured, with sweet tannins in harmony with the acidity. Lingering fruit and spice after-aroma.

Red Wine by Ecco Domani from Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy. Blend: 86% Merlot (6% surmaturo Merlot), 5% surmaturo Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% surmaturo Lagrein Ecco Domani 2005 Merlot displays a deep red color tinged with ruby-red reflections. It is soft and lovely in the modern red style, with aromas of well-ripened blackberry fruit. It has subtle tannins and a long, complex finish characterized by notes of spice and cherry on the palate. This Merlot is a perfect match for a wide range of foods, particularly tomato-based pasta dishes, poultry and grilled meats.
