Red Wine by Ognissole from Southern Italy, Italy. Color: Deep ruby red with violet reflections. Bouquet: Complex, powerful, spicy hints of clove and black pepper with woodsy undertones. Suggestions of wild cherry and prune. Taste: Soft, consistent, with an excellent balance of acidity and tannins. Velvety smooth. Closes with lingering sensations of cocoa and coffee. Red Wine by A. Mano from Southern Italy, Italy. Made from 100% Primitivo (Zinfandel's ancestor) from Puglia. A. Mano (meaning made by hand) is made from 70-100 year-old, hand-cultivated, low-yielding vines. This is a fruit-packed, food-friendly, modern wine, an excellent value and a great alternative to American Zinfandel. It pairs exceedingly well with a variety of dishes - grilled meats, rich pastas, spicy foods and barbecue.

An amazing bargain... this is dense, rich, powerful stuff, its tannins stretching through the spicy, mineral-laden red fruit like runner's muscles, long and strong. Drink it now with bacon-wrapped pork loin, but make sure to stash a few bottles in the cellar, too: this should hold well for at least another five years. -Wines & Spirits Primitivo is sourced from vineyards located between the provinces of Lecce and Brindisi and planted with a density of about 5,000 units per hectare. Average age of the vines is between 35 and 40 years. In the new, modern cellar the wine is fermented in stainless steel vats where for the most part it also ages, although certain amount spends up to six months in wood.
