Red Wine by Vega Sindoa from Navarra, Spain. Blend: 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Tempranillo from Navarra Bright berry fruit with lots of interesting spicy tea and vanilla notes. Very soft fruit, with a creamy consistency and layers of earthy cherry and berry pie.

Red Wine by Mad Dogs & Englishmen from Spain. This wine is made from a combination of the most widely planted local grape variety called Monastrell (50%); barrel aged Cabernet Sauvignon (20%) and Shiraz (30%). Monastrell is a sexy grape that originated in the South of France but has flourished in this region of Spain, South East of Madrid, due to the warm weather that fosters the late ripening period of this particular varietal. 2003 was hot as hell in Jumilla, the hottest on record in fact. The harvest was moved up by 15 days to accommodate for the weather, also breaking records. The result is a wonderfully ripe, high quality wine that proudly represents this emerging growing area in Spain. The Monastrell grape brings raspberry, loganberry and mulberry flavors to the palate while the Shiraz carries white pepper notes. The Cabernet provides the backbone to the wine with a soft, round mouth feel and a sweet mid-palate.

Red Wine by Campos Reales from Spain. Deep ruby/violet. Medium nose of blackberry, meat, dark chocolate, and earth. Round, rich mouth of berries, spice, leather and brown sugar. Intense and complex for the price. Youthful and grapey on the nose, with primary cherry and blackberry aromas tinged by cracked pepper. Red Wine by Almira from Spain. 93% Garnacha, 7% Syrah From slopes on the edge of the Sierra Iberica, just south of Navarra where Garnacha is king, this special cuvee blends 7% Syrah with rich Grenache produced from vines of 35 to 50 years of age. The resultant wine exhibits an elegance rarely encountered in the wines from this DO. Fermentation is classical, with no carbonic maceration. Aging is wholly in stainless steel. The wine is immediately aromatic, full and friendly on the palate and finishes with a refined length. It is composed of 93% Garnacha and 7% Syrah and sees no oak. This dark ruby-colored wine offers plenty of ripe raspberry fruit with a hint of mineral on the nose and palate. It has surprising depth and length for its humble price making it a Best Buy.
