Savennieres La Jalousie (formerly les Coulees, or Cuvee Classique, i.e. dry) is a classic Savennieres from a stainless-steel cuvee of young and older vines from their steepest soils of pure schist. The domaine of the de Jessey family has been the source for some remarkable Savennieres, of which I have numerous twenty-some year old bottles in my own cellar. Winsome aromas of quince, chamomile, almond paste, and white chocolate lead to a subtly sweet, mouth-filling, yet elegant and juicy palate and a bitter-sweet, quince- and flower-filled, honeyed, subtly confectionary yet genuinely refreshing finish. White Wine by Mulderbosch from South Africa. Blend: 92% Chenin Blanc, 8% Sauvignon Blanc Pale yellow in color with a hint of green. On the nose, tinned pineapples, guavas, litchi, lemon and lime aromas are abundant. A clean, lively wine with nuances of nutmeg and cloves. Well-balanced and elegant, but with weight and a powerful follow-through on the palate. Stylistically off-dry and lightly oaked - this is an excellent food wine. Arresting as a chilled aperitif, but can also partner with shellfish, grilled tuna, lemon and herb roast chicken, vegetable stews, bobotie: South African/Malay dish of baked savory mince served with saffron rice, and lightly spiced dishes.

White Wine by Ch. de Montfort from Loire, France - regions. Abundant fruit and honey flavors bound together with the right balance of sweetness and acidity. The harmony of Vouvray - just a touch of sugar, but still officially dry - is immediately apparent and genuinely appealing. Delicately flavored foods such as trout and other fresh-water fish, chicken and veal. Will also pair nicely with many salads, lighter pasta and rice dishes.

White Wine by Dry Creek Vineyard from Sonoma County, California. Crafted in the traditional Loire Valley style, Dry Creek's Chenin Blanc is stainless steel fermented to preserve the fresh tropical aromas and bright acidity that have become hallmarks of this wine. At first swirl, the wine displays notes of melon, peach, and lemon peel. On the palate, crisp acidity is balanced with juicy tropical fruit flavors and additional hints of honeysuckle and rose petal. The finish is precise and harmonious with wonderful intensity and flavor - a perfect match with fresh shucked oysters or spicy Thai food.

White Wine by Kanu from South Africa. 87% Chenin Blanc; 13% Sauvignon Blanc. The Kanu range of wines honors Kanu, the mythical bird of promise. Legend has it when the bird appeared in the Southern African skies, all who fell under its shadow would be blessed with a bountiful harvest. Kanu wines celebrates this legend. Pale straw colour. A nose of tropical fruit and summer melon with a hint of spice. Crisp and full bodied, the papaya and pineapple flavours ensure a lingering aftertaste.

White Wine by Simonsig from South Africa. This very rich, full-bodied Chenin Blanc has a vibrant straw color with sweet fruit aromas of Golden Delicious apples and pears. A tropical fruit salad of melons, guavas and pineapples fill the palate. Sun-ripened grapes and a hint of Botrytis add to the mouthfilling intensity that lingers on the finish. Serving Hints: This wine should be served slightly chilled as an aperitif, or with lighter dishes.
