Wine By Nine

White Wine by St. Supery from Napa Valley, California. The Muscat Canelli grapes for this wine were harvested at night and in the cool early morning hours of September to maintain the delicate fruit flavors. Upon arrival at the winery, the grapes were crushed and pressed into chilled tanks for settling. The clean juice was racked and fermentation was initiated in temperature-controlled storage. A long, cool fermentation allowed for excellent flavor retention. After final blending, the wine was stabilized and prepared for bottling. The 2006 Muscato is like a breath of summer in a glass. There is a wonderful aroma of white peach, apricot pear and slight floral finish. The wine is light and delicate yet full of intense flavors of sweet ripe pear and apricots. This is a perfect aperitif for an afternoon gathering.

White Wine by Marchesi di Gresy from Piedmont, Italy. Color: Straw yellow with greenish reflections. Bouquet: Intense, fresh and fruity, with notes of peach and sage. Taste: Very harmonious, the acidity matches very well with the sugar and gives a wine of pleasant drinkability. This dessert wine is an ideal match for fresh fruit and cakes.

A voluptuous, exotically perfumed nose, with deliciously well-defined primary aromas (some floral notes, roses, lilies...), complemented by secondary aromas derived from the wine's controlled fermentation. Silky and sappy on the palate. Excellent with shellfish (a sublime match for an avocado and shellfish salad, for instance), as well as with fish, fresh melon with cured Spanish ham, pates, poultry or pork in a sweet and sour sauce.
