White Wine by Robert Mondavi from Napa Valley, California. Blend: 85% Sauvignon Blanc, 15% Semillon An elegant wine of both power and finesse that reflects the terroir of the famed To Kalon Vineyard. Fragrant and floral with delicate aromas of orange flowers, this Reserve Fume Blanc is multi-layered and complex. An array of fresh, focused flavors blossom in the mouth: white peach, toasty oak and orange rind ending in an exceptionally long finish. Rich and zesty, the wine is mouthfilling yet light on the palate.

White Wine by Rochioli from Russian River, California. This Sauvignon Blanc possesses the typical Rochioli character and the classic Russian River Valley charm. Fifty-eight percent is from their sixteen-year-old hillside vineyard and twenty-eight percent is from their newest planting of a very special and rare clone. Only twenty percent of this blend is barrel fermented which gives this wine its complexity and round texture. The rest is tank fermented to preserve its intense varietal character and firm acidity Color: Pale, creamy yellow. Aroma: Aromas of grapefruit with a touch of grass and flinty characteristics. Taste:An intense, complex and richly flavored wine. Green-gold. Racy, sharply focused aromas of lime, orange zest and talc, with a zesty, peppery accent. Medium-bodied and chewy, with concentrated orange and Meyer lemon flavors and a lush, round quality on the lengthy finish. These vines were planted in 1959, according to Rochioli, and that's why it always has real body and texture in addition to the usual freshness I like in sauvignon blanc. -International Wine Cellar

White Wine by Chalk Hill from Sonoma County, California. Blend: 88% Sauvignon Blanc, 6% Semillon, 6% Sauvignon Gris Chalk Hill's Sauvignon Blanc captures the personality of their land and harnesses the capricious nature of the grape. They tend eleven clones of Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris and Semillon. Every cluster was inspected for defects. After being whole-cluster pressed, this wine was 100% barrel fermented; 20% of the total saw stainless steel barrels, while 80% was in French oak. Both rich and elegant, the lush floral aromas of honey suckle and kaffir lime combine with a vibrant band of gooseberries and tropical fruit. The wine is lengthy, persistent, and represents an evolutionary leap in winemaking.

White Wine by Grgich Hills from Napa Valley, California. The grapes were organically and biodynamically grown on Grgich Hills' cool American Canyon and Carneros vineyards, not far from the San Francisco Bay. In the glass, the wine offers a whiff of the tropics with kiwi, grapefruit, pineapple and a hint of minerality. On the tongue, this full-bodied wine has a crisp, refreshing texture and a long finish. This versatile, flavorful white wine is a great companion to a wide variety of food flavors and textures. In our recent tasting of older Sauvignon Blancs, no wine showed better with long-aging than the Grgich Hills 1983. These wines are always tight when young, and, at times, they make us wince at their bracing acidity. But, here is a wine that, while firm and only ready to drink for those who care for lean, brisk fruit as the first order of business, is so loaded with depth and promise that some of it should be put away for another day. White Wine by St. Supery from Napa Valley, California. Wonderful aromas of ruby grapefruit, lime juice and honeysuckle join with a vibrant core of grapefruit, hints of pineapple, nectarine and lemon grass. The texture is inviting and supple with enough racy acidity to keep it all focused.

White Wine by Clos Pegase from Carneros, California. The spring of 2005 was very rainy, which slowed the usual early growth. A moderate and dry summer led to a mid-September start to harvest. The 2005 wines, of which the Sauvignon Blanc is the first to be bottled, are uniformly pure of fruit and elegant. The 2005 vintage is filled with vibrant and pure Sauvignon Blanc varietal character: gooseberry, fresh cut hay, grapefruit, kiwi and quince. The palate is soft and supple on entry, with expansive fruit on the middle. Bright and refreshing acidity tempers the opulent and supple mouthfeel and finish.

White Wine by Source Napa from Napa Valley, California. A fantastic Sauvignon Blanc from Napa Valley! The 2005 vintage exhibits rich aromas of orange, lime and grapefruit marmalade, elderflower, honeycomb, jasmine and fig. It is a finely balanced wine, with dense layers of flavor and texture cut with a firm line of citrus fruit acidity. Delicious flavors of floral honey, apricot and grapefruit zing through the palate. Typical of the Gamble Vineyards wine; clean, crisp with persistent finish. The 16-acre Gamble Vineyard is located in Yountville, north of Carneros at the southern end of the Napa Valley. This superb rocky site is warm enough to develop Sauvignon Blanc's tropical fruit flavors, yet cool enough to retain its natural fruit balance and crispness. Half of Gamble Vineyard is planted to the Sauvignon Musque clone, a third generation of the original bud wood brought from the Loire Valley in the 1950s - the other half to the Preston Clone, descended from the Graves region of Bordeaux.
