Red Wine by Castello di Bossi from Tuscany, Italy. The wine exhibits a deep ruby color with spicy aromas of tamarind. Soft and creamy on the palate with a structure that is powerful without being aggressive. Made from 85% Sangiovese and 15% Merlot The first vintage was bottled in 1993, and 50,000 bottles are produced annually. Production area: Pista dei Cavalli - located 875-1,060 ft. above sea level, with South/West exposure and a Tufo/ Clay/ Lime/ Stone soil composition Vineyard characteristics: 37.5 acres planted in 1985 -1995 with a density of 2,160 vines per acre. The vines are planted in the Spur - Pruned - Cordon method and yield 2.15 tons per acre. The harvest was carried out in October 1-10 Vinification & Aging Type of Press: Method of extraction: Pump Overs Length of Maceration: 20-22 days Fermented in Barrels at a temperature of 82-86 degrees for 7 - 8 days.
